Westbury 20th October

Sky surfers secret day out to westbury
nice cold night followed by a bright morning was going to give a good days flying
slightly to much wind meant that going upwind was going to be difficult but several cloud streets helped although they seemed to dissipate and build quickly
very good climbs to 4500 asl helped me to just short of Trowbridge before i turned back for westbury although Tony S carried on past the town to the Kennet canal
Got back to the white horse and found myself another street and cruised round a 20 km triangle and a 3 hour flight
great for october and good to see low airtime pilots having some good flights too

  1. Thanks to all the experienced pilots for helping us novice guys when we needed it. Personaly I owe further gratitude to my own personal sky god who moved a cow off my landing strip when I got spooked and made for the bottom. Also thanks to Alan for collecting me. It was a hasty decision made under stress as I had got a bit tiered and then found my glider would not decend over the T/L as expected. If only I had re-engaged my brain I would have just zig zaged down. Another dodgy T/o and Slightly dodgy landing and I am ready to go back to school!
Never the less it was a great day and I clocked 30 min' +500ft.
